OpenWeb is setting its sights on local gamers by adding an upcoming service directed at the SA gaming market.
“OpenWeb will be launching a gaming specific product early this year aimed at Gamers in SA,” said Keoma Wright, founder and CEO of OpenWeb. “The product will place priority on all gaming traffic 24 /7.”
The prioritisation of traffic will be a core attraction for local gamers, as gaming-centric services are in high demand with the growth of online gaming in South Africa.
In terms of the wallet damage, Wright did add that the pricing will be “extremely favourable” when the service arrives.
The online gaming scene in South Africa is definitely on a growth-spurt, and local ISPs are undoubtedly taking notice with the new range of services, products and focus for SA gamers.
“Gamers drive ADSL in South Africa,” added Wright. “We have a lot of gamers using our products, and they are always the first to offer valuable suggestions and ideas regarding new product ranges.”
Wright also added that gamers require particular treatment from ISPs, to deliver what is needed from a gaming perspective.
“As a company that does not believe in a ‘one size fits all’ approach, we feel that Gamers deserve an account especially crafted for them.”
