Best Cyborg heroes

In celebration of the new Blood Dragon standalone expansion for Far Cry 3, which features Sergeant Rex “Power” Colt – a cyborg hero if there ever was one, MyGaming has decided to pay tribute to some of the best human/robot hybrids out there.

Nathan “Rad” Spenser (Bionic Commando)

I may get some hate for this, but I really enjoyed the 2009 Bionic Commando reboot, and Nathan Spenser as a protagonist.

While the knowledge that Nathan’s arm is actually a metal embodiment of his deceased wife is a little weird, he is one of the coolest cyborgs around. His arm can be used as a weapon, but more importantly, its grappling hook ability allows Nathan to swing around town like a dreadlocked badass.

Adam Jensen (Deus Ex: Human Revolution)

Adam Jensen’s robotic augmentation wasn’t exactly planned (after a near life-ending attack), but let’s be honest, it made him way more awesome than ever before.

Jensen became faster, stronger and more lethal, with retractable blades that could protrude from his arms, as well as lightning quick reactions and improved combat skills.

Raiden (Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance)

Raiden went from one of the most awkward heroes (appearing in Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty as a naked prisoner), to one of the most over-the-top and badass heroes to date.

Raiden’s cybernetic augmentation gave him a new life, as being half robot wasn’t enough, Raiden also became a head-chopping ninja on top of that.

His speed, agility, and ability to literally cut anything apart with his high frequency sword, make him a hero for any situation.

Jax (Mortal Kombat 3)

Jax is one of the original gaming cyborgs, as the US Special Forces major attached some pretty powerful  bionic implants and metal arms onto his body, giving him incredible strength (and some devastating punches) to try and take down Kano.

Jax is one of the series’ favourites, and fans will always find themselves quickly searching for him on the character selection screen.

Cyborg (Injustice: Gods Among Us)

It’s hard not to talk about cyborgs without DC’s original robotic human experiment – Victor Stone, who became known as Cyborg following a life-saving operation.

While a comic-book hero, Cyborg has appeared in Netherealm’s Injustic: Gods Among Us.

Cyborg features superhuman strength, endurance and durability, and can also interface with computers.

Built into his body-armour are an infrared eye, computer generator, sound amplifier, and special programming adapters that allow him to interface with other body extensions.

Have we left any awesome cyborgs off the list? Let us know in the comments below and on the MyGaming forum.
