This weekend, there are special editions, consoles and handhelds on sale from a number of SA’s retailers, offering something to all types of gamers.

Bioshock Infinite Ultimate Songbird Edition (Animeworx) – R1,395

Animeworx has dropped the price on the Ultimate Songbird Edition of arguably the best game this year, Bioshock Infinite.

The special only applies to the Xbox 360 version, and is available while stocks last.

BT Games Deal of the Week (BT Games)

BT Games’ deal of the week includes Metal Gear Rising: Revegenance, which is priced at R399.90 for the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions each.

The game has had a great critical reception, as it has brought the classic Metal Gear universe and slashed it up with some non-stop over-the-top action.

The other special is Gears of War: Judgment and a new Xbox 360 controller-S for R499.90.

The special is valid until 9 May 2013.

Playstation 3 bundle (Makro) – R4,999

Makro has a huge PS3 bundle on offer this weekend.

The bundle includes a 500GB super-slim Playstation 3 console, two Dual-Shock 3 controllers, and 3 trilogy packs, which make up 9 games.

The trilogy packs include the Ratchet and Clank Trilogy, the Uncharted trilogy, and the Killzone trilogy.

The special is valid until 6 May 2013.

PS Vita (CNA) – R1999.90

CNA has the WiFi Edition of the PS Vita on special for R1999.90.

The handheld console has had a slow start in the mobile market, but has since gathered some momentum.

There are some great Vita games too, such as Uncharted: Golden Abyss, Rayman Origins, and LittleBigPlanet PS Vita.

The special is valid until 5 May 2013.

PC gaming peripherals (BT Games) – various prices

As part of the on-going hardware sale, BT Games has a number of Razer, SteelSeries, Turtle Beach and Gioteck goods to tease you with.

Some of the specials includes Razer’s EOL Death Adder mouse (R649.90) and Turtle’s Beach’s Ear Force Z2 headset (R299.90).
