Is Resident Evil: Revelations HD the best RE game ever?

Resident Evil: Revelations releases this week, and the 3DS to current-gen console and PC port may not have the attention of most gamers, but given some critics’ responses, maybe you should pay attention.

The game is currently sitting on Metascores of 80, 78 and 76 for PS3, PC and Xbox 360 respectively, while over on Gamerankings it has scored 79.07, 83.00 and 76.59 percent on the same three platforms.

The aggregate scores don’t tell the whole story though, so what are individual outlets actually giving the game, and more importantly, what are they saying?

Official Xbox Magazine: 9/10

“Deficits notwithstanding, this is a superb port of what may be the best survival-horror game on Xbox since Dead Space first lurched onto the scene”

GamesBeat: 8.5/10
