Winter is kicking in, which can often be heaven for gamers who need an excuse to stay inside, and a few SA retailers are helping that cause by offering some good gaming deals this weekend.

Sony HMZ-T1 Personal 3D Viewer (Animeworx) – R3,680.00

Animeworx has a very interesting item on special – a Sony HMZ-T1 Personal 3D viewer.

The 3D headset originally retailed for around R9,000, and now at most places you could expect to find it for around R4,500, so Animeworx’s price special is in a solid range.

Its good to keep in mind that this is the HMZ-T1, and a HMZ-T2 is set to release soon; however, details and pricing for SA are still to be confirmed.

BT Games’ deal of the week includes Bioshock Infinite, which is priced at R499.90 for the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions, and R399.90 for the PC version.

Kalahari pre-order specials (Kalahari) – up to 20% off

There are a horde of big gaming releases coming in the next few months, and Kalahari has opened a pre-order special that slashes up to 20% off a select number of titles.

Games such as FIFA 14, Grand Theft Auto 5, and the console version of colossal, future Game-of-the-Year nominee, Farming Simulator 2013 are all 20% off until 31 May 2013.

This sees FIFA 14 cut down to R483.95 (from R599.95) on Xbox 360 and PS3, and GTA 5 going for R644.95 (from R799.95) on both consoles too.

There are a bunch of other big games, such as Remember Me, Rayman Legends, Lost Planet 3, Splinter Cell Blacklist, and Grid 2 on pre-order specials, so be sure to check them out if you’ve had your eye on any of them.

BT Games Greenstone opening specials (BT Games)

BT Games has a special on an Xbox 360 and PS3 bundle in celebration of its store opening in Greenstone (Modderfontein, Johannesburg).

The Xbox 360 bundle includes a 250GB console, boxed editions of Darksiders II, Gears of War: Judgment, Halo 4 and a download token for Batman: Arkham City. There is also a 1-month Gold voucher for Xbox Live included. The bundle is priced at R1,999.90.

The PS3 bundle includes a 500GB super-slim console, two Dual-Shock 3 controllers and Gran TUrismo 5: Academy Edition – all for R2,999.90.

There are also some specials on games, such as God of War: Ascension for R299.90.

The special is valid while stocks last, and only in-store at the Greenstone branch.
