While many are speculating which games will next be free on Microsoft’s Xbox Live Games with Gold programme, some internet sleuths have said that Capcom’s Dead Rising 2 and Realtime Studios’ Crackdown are next on the line-up.
The news comes through a Polish gaming website, which claimed that a “reliable source” told it that August’s games would be the zombie-slasher and the open-world crime-crusher.
This is still purely speculative, but given that Assassin’s Creed II was one of the previous Games with Gold titles, it’s possible that these two could appear in the line-up.
Microsoft recently detailed its Games with Gold initiative, explaining that Xbox Live Gold members will receive a new free downloadable title on the 1st and 16th of every month.
“Each specially selected, fan-favourite game will be available to download only for a limited time, so grab them before they’re gone and keep them no matter what,” noted Microsoft.
Many MyGaming readers expressed their feelings on the forums regarding the Games with Gold delay in July.
Microsoft’s Larry “Major Nelson” Hryb was also apologetic about the disappointment gamers showed with the Games with Gold titles, as many of the community felt they were underwhelming.
