LEGO Marvel Super Heroes is one of the many superhero games coming out this season, but while it may look like the most unassuming, it’s likely that it could be the best.
The reviews for the game have been released, and as expected, its ticking all the right boxes for LEGO game fans as well as Marvel enthusiasts.
The game currently sits on a Metascore of 82 for the Xbox 360 version, which looks to be the platform on which most of the reviews took place, because the other platforms are still awaiting aggregates.
The game also has a GameRankings of 75 percent.
What are the critics saying:
IGN: 9/10
“LEGO Marvel Super Heroes is the best thing to happen to Marvel games since 2006’s Marvel Ultimate Alliance. It’s a warm and witty, multi-layered approach to the brand that ties in hundreds of Marvel’s most iconic characters, settings, and stories.”
GameInformer: 9/10
“Ultimately, Lego Marvel marks the first time I’ve had as much fun in the hub world as in the story-based missions. Variety abounds, and the split-screen lets players explore the city on their own. I made it my mission to find bricks and solve the unexpectedly clever puzzles to unlock extras, while my son was happy to rampage through the streets as Venom.”
Polygon: 8.5/10
“Anyone could enjoy Lego Marvel Super Heroes’ tightly-designed systems and colorful world, but for someone who grew up reading The Avengers — or is growing up watching them now — it offers something I never thought I’d see: a virtual recreation of a huge swath of the Marvel Universe in all its sensational, astonishing and uncanny glory.”
GameTrailers: 8.7/10
“There’s a lot to see, and a lot of it’s worth seeing. It may not be in the echelons of excelsior, but we feel it’s safe to say: make mine Marvel.”
Cheat Code Central: 4.5/5
“LEGO Marvel Super Heroes is a great game. It is a game that is for the kid in all of us. It is a game for the fanboys and girls of the Marvel Universe. It has taken things from other LEGO games and graduated to the next logical step. If you have been looking for something to sit back and enjoy, this might just be it.”
EGM: 9/10
“Some technical shortcomings aside, this is a tremendously fun experience that will appeal to LEGO and comic book fans young and old alike.”
GamesRadar: 3/5
“Lego Marvel Super Heroes couldn’t slay all of its technical villains, but there’s plenty of fun to be had despite those shortcomings.”
