This week, gamers won’t have a lack of choice when it comes to gaming variety, as some big releases are heading our way in a hurry.
Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag – 29 October (Xbox 360, PS3)
After all the snazzy tech demoes, many forget that Assassin’s Creed 4 is still coming to current-gen consoles as well, and it’s releasing this week.
Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag on PS3 and 360 is the same game as the PS4 and Xbox One versions, albeit with slightly less “oomph” in the graphical fidelity.
You’ll still get the massive scope, crazy naval battles, and sneaky throat-stabbings that you can expect from the next AC adventure.
Battlefield 4 – 1 November
Battlefield 4 will raise the bar of what we expect from an FPS and vehicular action game, bringing DICE’s gorgeous Frostbite 3 engine to the forefront; its exploding onto 360, PS3 and PC this week.
The FPS elements are further ramped up from past iterations, making for more visceral and intense gun battles.
There are a number of things on the Battlefield 4 maps that are interactive, including car alarms, birds, and other objects that can give away the location and whereabouts of enemies.
Players can also interact with shipping crates, opening and closing the doors if hiding, or to prevent someone from using it to sneak towards a flag.
These elements add player-enacted dynamic gameplay to the maps, adding another layer to consider when tackling the enemy.
