Market research company Gfk has released its September 2013 sales charts for the SA physical retail gaming market, revealing the top 5 selling games during the month.
We now have PC sales data that excludes any Sims 3 titles. Interestingly, Diablo 3 saw a resurgence in popularity on PC, perhaps driven by the marketing campaign for the console versions of the game, and the announcement of the Diablo 3 expansion, Reaper of Souls.
GTA 5 continues its dominance of the console charts. Diablo 3 managed to crack into the Xbox 360 chart, but it doesn’t seem to have much traction with PS3 gamers, where the excellent Splinter Cell Blacklist is clinging to the charts for Sony’s machine.
Over on the portables, it’s not surprising to see platform exclusives among the top sellers.
Below is a chart detailing the top 5 selling games at SA retail for September 2013.
