Top porn categories on console platforms

After stumbling upon the South African porn insight study conducted by Pornhub during the normal course of our gaming journalism activities, we found a treasure trove of gaming related information.

One title that caught our eye was Video gamers and Pornhub which detailed viewing habits from console users.

According to the study, gamers spend more time watching porn, watch more videos, and have a lower bounce rate than the average viewer. “They know what they want” the folks at Pornhub said.

Note: Pornhub refers simply to “Xbox”, in their stats, which we interpreted to be Xbox 360.

Time and page visits

On average, Xbox users spent the most time per porn site visit clocking up a respectable 11 minutes and 34 seconds. Nintendo Wii owners came in second with 10 minutes and 32 seconds, while PS3 and PS4 users were both below the ten minute mark. Obviously they wanted to get back to their awesome games.

Nintendo Wii players ranked tops when it came to page views per visit, with the average user visiting 8.44 pages. Xbox, PS3, and PS4 owners followed closely – all exceeding 8 pages per visit.

Traffic

We need to bear in mind here that correlation does not imply causation, and PlayStation’s popularity means it might rank first in most forms of internet traffic.

This aside, PS3 and PS4 users account for 55% of all traffic to Pornhub, Xbox 39%, and Nintendo Wii 6%. Hopefully Pornhub won’t cut Wii users off, or they will have nothing to do with their consoles (zing!).
