The first week of April offers a diverse set of games. A highly-anticipated MMO, a cricket game with an Australian name, and the story of a wayward goat. These are the games you can play this week:
The Elder Scrolls Online
We all know how much Marco has been looking forward to this game – he even wrote a piece on how to distract yourself until its release date – and he is no doubt one of many who are counting the hours until the game’s Friday, 4 April 2014 release date.
Only the PC version is available for now (the PS4 and Xbox One version are expected in June 2014), and it will be the first Elder Scrolls game to allow gamers to explore the legendary Elder Scrolls world with others.
Goat Simulator
Available on Steam from 1 April 2014 (yes, they are launching the game on April Fools’ Day), Goat Simulator looks set to be one of the most bizarre games of the year.
Control your Goat, run into cars/trees/explosions, do back-flips, and generally have a good time in what the developers have described as “Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater, but with a goat”.
Update: Megarom Interactive have announced that the SA release of Don Bradman Cricket 14 for the Xbox 360 and PS3 will be delayed by four days to 8 April. No local release date has been given for the PC version.
Don Bradman Cricket 14
Cricket games have never been known for their stunning graphics and smooth gameplay, and Don Bradman Cricket 14 looks no different.
The game is available on 4 April 2014 for PS3, Xbox 360, and PC. If you don’t like cricket, but you love it, this game might be for you.
