April Fools’ Day – a time when reading news sites is both fun and terrifying.
Is that story real? Is that Ebola scare a joke? Where is my half-eaten bacon sandwich? Such questions leave you scared and confused.
Fortunately we have compiled a list of the day’s gaming and tech related pranks to restore some sanity to your life.
Blizzard: Outcasts
“They’re underdogs. Also-rans. Some, the punching bags for the so-called “good guys”. But now, their days of being pushed around are over; the misfits are taking control,” says Blizzard of their new fighting game Outcasts.
With characters such as Battlecruiser, Wirt, and Gamon, combined with a sweet controller custom made for the game, I am pretty butt hurt this was just a joke.
Google Maps: Pokemon Challenge
Google wants you to catch ’em all using their map software. And if you succeed you could be the internet giant’s next Pokemon Master. Yes, they will employ you as their own version of Ash.
“Grab your Poké Ball and the newest version of Google Maps for iPhone or Android, then tap the search bar, “press start,” and begin your quest.”
I have always wanted a real Pikachu and to work for Google, how dare they get my hopes up with their digital mischief.
Titanfall – Optimus Prime DLC
While we can’t officially get Titanfall in SA, we can still appreciate the awesomeness that is giant robot warriors killing each other, and pathetic humans.
How could you improve the game (besides by making it available in SA and addressing graphics and server issues)? By adding Optimus Prime of course.
Playing as the leader of the Autobots looks fun, even if it is only a April Fools’ Day joke.
Killzone: A “Tim Burtun” Movie
Guerrilla Games announced on the Killzone blog that a movie version of the game was in the works, titled “A Helghastly Adventure”.
Directed by “Tim Burtun” and starring “Johhny Dep” and “Helena Bonam Carter”, the movie promised to be a thrilling story of betrayal, deception and tragedy.

Everyone likes nice photos of themselves. But sometimes you, or your friends, aren’t blessed with good looks and your photos turn out rather poorly. No one wants to look at your ugly photos, and this makes you sad.
But wait, Google is on hand to remedy the situation by giving you access to the most handsome man in the world for your group selfies – David Hasselhoff.
