SA gamers are a boozy bunch

It turns out that while only about 25% of the MyGaming Lifestyle Survey participants are smokers of some description, 70% enjoy the tipple.

Previously we unpacked the demographics of the MyGaming survey participants, painting a broad picture of the high-end gaming market in South Africa. The demographics results can be read here along with notes on statistical accuracy.

What do gamers drink?

From the sample size of 1,136 survey participants, 69.89% said they drink alcoholic beverages, while 30.11% said they don’t touch the stuff.

Of the respondents who drank, we asked which types of alcohol they consume, which brands are their favourite, and how much they spend on booze each month. The results are summarised below. Note that these questions were multiple choice.
