Powerful gaming laptops to suit your budget

We would all love an MSI GT70 2PE Dominator Pro with GTX 880M as our gaming laptop, but at just under R35,000, it is not what you would call cheap.

The guys at Evetech, who understand the plight of the gaming consumer, have provided us with a line-up of cheaper MSI gaming laptop options that provide nearly as much grunt for a lot less moola.

Below are the top six MSI gaming laptops recommend by Evetech as a suitable, and cheaper, alternative to the Dominator Pro with GTX 880m.

MSI GE60 – R12,999

MSI GE60 2OE i5

The GE60 is your classic starter gaming laptop, and comes in with great hardware at a very reasonable price.

MSI GX60 3BE – R13,999

MSI GX60 3BE

Very similar to it predecessor, the MSI GX60 3BE gives you a bit more power with a slight increase in cost. It also goes the AMD route in terms of processing.

MSI GX70 3BE – R14,999

The MSI GX70 3BE takes us to the 17.3-inch screen level, while keeping the hardware stats at a respectable level.

MSI GE60 2OE (i7) – R18,499

MSI GE60 2OE – i7

The GE60 2OE (with i7) is an improvement on our earlier entry, with not only a more powerful processor, but a much needed SSD/HDD combo.

MSI GT70 2OC – R24,499

MSI GT70 2OC

Now we are starting to get serious. There is quite a big jump in price between the MSI GT70 2OC and the others, but you are definitely getting more bang for your buck.

MSI GT60 20D -R24,999

MSI GT60 20D

Last, but not least, we have the MSI GT70 2OC, the priciest of the lot. An i7, 16GB of RAM, a 4GB graphics card, (and a laptop bag) make up this formidable package.
