E3 boasts great indie, small studio, and alternative games

No Man's Sky

While most of our attention during Sony, Microsoft, EA, and Ubisoft’s E3 press conferences was on the big AAA titles such as Batman: Arkham Knight and Battlefield Hardline, several indie, small studio, and alternative games were given a chance to shine.

If like me, you spent a good deal of time trying to sign up for the Hardline beta while salivating over all the new and shiny game trailers, you may have missed some of the smaller gems on display.

Here are some of the promising titles.

No Man’s Sky

No Man’s Sky is a science-fiction game about exploration and survival in an infinite, procedurally generated universe.

Abzu

ABZÛ will take players on an epic adventure into the depths of the ocean, where they will encounter majestic creatures and discover long lost secrets.

ABZÛ references a concept from the oldest Mesopotamian mythology: it is the combination of two ancient words – Ab, meaning ocean, and Zû, meaning to know. Essentially, ABZÛ is the ocean of wisdom.

Ori and the Blind Forest

Ori and the Blind Forest is an action-adventure platformer that combines deep exploratory gameplay with emotional storytelling. Join Ori must solve the mysteries of a dying forest while escaping the evil clutches of Kuro, the dark owl.

Devolver Digital Titles for PS4, PS3, and PS Vita – Featuring Broforce

A stack of indie titles are coming to Sony’s platforms, with locally made Broforce leading the pack.

Entwined

Experience a tale about a bird and a fish that are in love but can never be together. Guide them both simultaneously over the course of nine unique lifetimes on a journey to unite their souls.

ID @ Xbox’s Upcoming Titles

ID @ Xbox brings you hundreds of Studios developing truly unique and innovative games, only for Xbox One.

Guacamelee! Super Turbo Championship Edition

Guacamelee! STCE is a Metroid-vania style action-platformer set in a magical Mexican inspired world. The game draws its inspiration from traditional Mexican culture and folklore, and features many interesting and unique characters.
