100-hour games for all gaming types

24 August 2014

Are you tired of playing games that only last you a couple of weekends?

Bored of campaigns that keep you busy for less than 20 hours?

Well, we have some good news – there are games out here, irrespective of the type of gamer you are, that will keep you occupied until the cows come home.

Or, at the very least, until you have to go to work on Monday.

Here are a few of the 100-hour+ masterpieces currently available.

The open world gamer – The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim: Legendary Edition

If the main game was not enough, the Legendary Edition has all the extras you could ever ask for.

Skyrim has over 300 quests to play through, an expansive world to explore, and dozens of dragons to slay.

You can easily spend a few hundred hours playing this game, and you may even pick up a bit of Dovahkiin along the way.

The RPG fanatic – Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster

Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster is a game that caters to not only RPG fanatics, but those who enjoy a good looking title, too.

With over 40 hours of gameplay in each title, plus the additional episodes to play afterwards, it will keep you occupied for many a late night.

Plus, as a remastered game, it is relatively cheap.

The all-round gamer – Grand Theft Auto 5

There’s not much to say about GTA 5 that you don’t already know – the game is epic in every sense of the word.

With a PC, PS4, and Xbox One version expected in the coming months, soon all gamers will be able to cruise around Los Santos killing, drinking, doing drugs, and making love to all kinds of nasty women.

Ah, what wholesome family fun.

The decision maker – Dragon Age: Origins Ultimate Edition

Do you need to polish up on your Dragon Age lore before Inquisition launches in November?

Dragon Age: Origins Ultimate Edition will not only help you brush up on your skills, but keep you busy until the next title in the series launches.

No need to worry about new games coming out anymore – you are a Dragon Age player now.

The first-person shooter-er – Borderlands 2: GOTY Edition

What do you get when you take a long, enthralling game and bundle it with a ton of new content and DLC?

Answer: a quality FPS title that will keep your thumbs going for many an hour.

With all four of the game’s main DLC packs, plus headhunter packs and skinds, Borderlands 2 GOTY Edition is a must for persistent FPS players.

The strategist – Command & Conquer The Ultimate Collection

Nothing beats the smell of Tiberium and burning corpses in the morning.

For all the wannabe generals and field marshals out there, Command & Conquer The Ultimate Collection takes the 17 games that made the franchise great and bundles them into one package.

This will definitely keep you busy for a while.

The survivor – Dark Souls

Do not be afraid of death, dying just makes a game last longer, and if you are a good at dying then Dark Souls is just the game for you.

With its Atorias of the Abyss DLC and the lengthy main game, prepare to spend hundreds of hours getting knocked down and getting back up again.
