Another month, another set of new games arriving on our shores. September brought us one of the biggest titles of 2014 – Destiny – and the question is: can October match its predecessor when it comes to big game releases?

Let’s find out by revealing the games releasing this month.

Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor – PC, PS4, Xbox One

Shadow of Mordor did well with the reviewers, and if the videos I have seen so far are anything to go by, this is a must-play game.

It is due to be released locally on 3 October 2014.

Forza Horizon 2 – Xbox 360, Xbox One

Forza Horizon 2 is scheduled to be released for the Xbox 360 and One on 3 October 2014. It is billed as the premier racing game for the Microsoft console.

Alien: Isolation – PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One

Are you ready to discover the true meaning of fear? The trailers teasing this game in the build up to its launch have been terrifying, and no doubt keeping Ellen Ripley’s daughter, Amanda, alive as you play will be equally bowel-loosening.

NBA 2K15 – PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One

Like Fifa, NBA 2K is returning with its annual update. 2K15 is due to be released on 7 October 2014.
