Games to look forward to in 2015

8 December 2014

2014 has been a year of top-quality game releases, with the likes of Destiny, Dragon Age: Inquisition, GTA 5 “next-gen”, and many other games putting a smile on our faces.

It has also been a year of bugs, glitches, and frame rate issues (cough, Ubisoft, cough).

If you mostly experienced the latter, do not worry: you can make up for it in 2015.

How you ask? By buying one of the following games. Here are some of the big titles you can look forward to in 2015.

Grand Theft Auto 5 (PC)

PC gamers will finally get the chance to play Grand Theft Auto 5 on 27 January 2015. After watching their console counterparts have all the fun for month on end, let’s hope the Master Race is not too grumpy by the time this game releases.

Evolve

The 4v1 title for PC, PS4, and Xbox One is due to be released in February 2015. The game sees four players take the role of human hunters who must destroy a giant monster, which is controlled by a single player.

The LAN demo of this game at rAge 2014 looked good, and many gamers gave positive feedback after their round.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

The Witcher 3 is a game I am really looking forward to, thanks, in part, to the fact that the creators have promised all DLC for the open-world title will be free. The game will require players to dust off their RPG skills as they fight enemy soldiers, wild creatures, and ride a horse like a boss.

Wild Hunt is due out in February 2015 for the PC, PS4, and Xbox One.

Battlefield Hardline

Battlefield Hardline, coming to the PC, PS4, PS3, Xbox One, and Xbox 360, is scheduled to be released in March 2015. The games has more of a focus on the single-player campaign than previous Battlefield titles, and replaces modern warfare with “cops and robbers” action.

Project Cars

In the absence  of Gran Turismo for the PS4, Project Cars is looking like the racing game to beat in 2015. The game’s visuals look incredible and the array of cars and tracks shown off so far will definitely have the attention of racing fans.

Projects Cars is due to be released for the PC, PS4, and Xbox One in March 2015.

Mortal Kombat X

The latest edition of Mortal Kombat is due out in April 2015. The game, set to be released for the PC, PS4, PS3, Xbox One, and Xbox 360, promises great visuals and gameplay along with the most brutal Fatalities you have ever seen.

Seriously, keep small children away from this game – it will give them nightmares.

Batman: Arkham Knight

Batman: Arkham Knight is the conclusion of Rocksteady’s involvement with Batman video games, and the studio is looking go out on a high note. From what I have seen of the game it looks visually incredible, and the addition of the Batmobile is sure to make things interesting.

ETA: June 2015 for the PC, PS4, and Xbox One.

  • Dead Island 2
  • Dying Light
  • Homefront: The Revolution
