Dying Light pre-order price roundup

22 January 2015

Dying Light is due to be released digitally for the PC, Xbox One, and PS4 on 27 January 2015. The game’s physical copies were scheduled to hit the shelves on 30 January in SA, but the team behind the game said this date has been “slightly delayed”.

No new release date has been set as yet, and local retailers still have 30 January listed as the release date.

That being said, those who want to pre-order the game will most likely still do so, and before making such a life-altering decision you need information. Information like: how much does the damned thing cost?

For those of you unfamiliar with the game, Dying Light is a survival-horror zombie spectacular which merges the zombie-slaying mechanics of Dead Island and the parkour system from Mirror’s Edge.

The parkour system includes the ability to run across rooftops, scale trees, and even grapple from the ground up to the top of a building. This makes it easy to get away from a horde of Infected who threaten your brain matter.

Here is how much the game is going for in SA.

Dying Light
Retailer PC PS4 Xbox One
Kalahari R499 R699 R699
Raru R515 R687 R687
BT Games R535 R699 R699

AWX R575 R765 R765

Pricing was not available from Loot, CNA Online, Incredible Connection, Makro, Dion Wired, and Toys R Us at the time of writing.

I might purchase this but it all depends on the outcome of the reviews post release (personally I don’t believe in pre-ordering as I’ve just been burnt too many times in the past).

Also odd but steam reckons a release date of the 30th for me too (not that
I’d ever buy the digital version over the physical one when it costs
more – R690.93 via steam as opposed to R499 via Kalahari…here burn this R100 note just for kicks).
