Top 5 PlayStation 4 Games

The PlayStation 4 has been out and around for sometime now, and there have been some great titles released so far. If you are looking to get a PS4, or already own one and need a suggestion for a new game or two, these are the games you should be playing.

First Party Exclusives

Sony’s first party exclusives have been a little underwhelming so far. The Order: 1886 failed to impress with its short campaign, and inFAMOUS: First light was just too tedious to warrant a purchase. That aside, let’s look at the bestselling and highest rated exclusive PS4 games currently on the market.

  1. The Last of Us Remastered – 95

One of the greatest PS3 games of all time was remastered beautifully for PS4, receiving the full 1080p treatment with all of the DLC included. The Last of Us Remastered still managed to hit home with high review scores from practically every critic who went near it, making it the highest rated PS4 exclusive on the market.

  1. Bloodborne – 93

No surprise here. From Software’s latest brutal action adventure captivated gamers with its dark and eerie setting and unforgiving combat. It was recently announced that Bloodborne hit 1.03 million units sold since launch on March 25th, 2015.

  1. Flower – 91

That Game Company has a knack for creating breath-taking, mind-blowing experiences like Journey and Flower. When Flower was released on the PS4, it allowed players to re-experience the beauty of the simple petal, and that’s all we really needed.

  1. Resogun – 84

Resogun was a PS4 launch title and a great gem to start off your PS4 library with. It then received two DLC packs which added a few more features onto the game like a Survival Mode, Demolition Mode and a pretty new world to destroy called Avernus. Pew, pew, pew, pew.

  1. MLB 14: The Show

MLB was the first baseball title to hit the PS4. Its overhauled visuals and deep gameplay impressed gamer and critic alike, and it’s now gone onto being quite an annually anticipated title. That’s why it’s at number 5.

Third Party Titles

What is a console without its third party titles, a Wii U *chuckle*? The gaming industry is flooded by great third party titles that are released virtually every week. These are the games that have managed to make the most impact and maintain it long enough to stick around.

  1. Grand Theft Auto V – 97

What is a “highest rated” games list without Grand Theft Auto at the top spot. The usual award for the highest rated game goes to Grand Theft Auto V. It has managed to get to the top spot and it will probably stay there for the entire of console generation.

  1. Diablo III: Ultimate Evil Edition – 90

Diablo III feels like a completely different game on consoles. With up to 4 players on screen at the same time, online or offline, and containing all the improvements made to the PC version, it’s something else.

  1. Rayman Legends – 90

It seems like remastered games are all the rage on the PS4 with the three highest games all ported from PS3. Rayman Legends is a gorgeous platformer that really took the franchise to a whole new level. It’s tough but rewarding as you explore vibrant, colourful worlds set in the Rayman universe. And it’s just so darn adorable.

  1. Fez – 90

Fez is a side-scroller with a twist, literally. You will need to think outside of the box as you explore the 2D/3D  hybrid world. Solving puzzles, collecting block fragments and all while listening to a great soundtrack.

  1. Dragon Age: Inquisition – 89

Dragon Age: Inquisition not only kept me captivated for over 90 hours, but it also won Game of the Year in 2014, and trust me, it was well deserved. Its rich lore, beautiful environments and spectacular storyline bowled me over. Few games come along and change the way we experience gaming in general, Dragon Age: Inquisition was one of them.

Which of these games have you played? What are your thoughts on them? And if they’re not your top picks, which are? Let us know in the comments and forums, so we can get chatting.
