UPDATED: Games you can play this week – vehicular chaos and ancient assassins

Carmageddon Reincarnation

Edit: So apparently Jeremy’s eye wasn’t on the ball because he completely missed the fact that Carmageddon: Reincarnation has been delayed until May 21st.

Rest assured, Jeremy will be whipped, and not the good kind of whipping.

Original Story: This week we’ve got a host of games coming our way, many of them exciting, including some vehicular mayhem from a returning veteran, as well as a few sneaky assassinations from a new, more colourful perspective.

Carmageddon: Reincarnation

April 23rd (PC, Mac, Linux)

’90s gamers will be ecstatic to know that Max is back – as Carmageddon lifts itself from the gaming grave for a new generation of vehicular carnage.

Funded by an uber-successful Kickstarter campaign, Reincarnation reunites the original developers to bring another driving carpocalypse where pedestrians (and cows) equal points and your opponents are a bunch of crazies in a twisted mix of automotive killing machines. It’s the antidote to racing games.

Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: China

April 22nd (Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC)

Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: China is a digital-only release in the beloved Assassin’s Creed franchise that puts you in charge of Shao Jun, the last remaining assassin of the Chinese Brotherhood.

The Chronicles series is set on a 2.5D plane like Assassin’s Creed II: Discovery and will be followed by similar games in India and Russia.

Gamers have been promised the chance to scout, sneak and hide to avoid detection, while also being given the tools to fool enemies using whistles and disguises. And don’t forget to keep an eye out for Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: India and Russia; they’re sneaky assassins after all.
