5 explosive games coming your way

5 May 2015
Just Cause 3

While we all love a great, thought-provoking gaming experience, a game to tug at the heart-strings so to speak, there’s times when we just want something big, loud and, most of all, that explodes a lot. There’s nothing quite like flailing debris launching in every direction.

With that in mind here are five upcoming ‘splosion-rich games that are sure to bring the boom:

Just Cause 3

Rico Rodriguez returns in the third entry into the action-packed Just Cause franchise, and there’s one guarantee: he’s going to blow up a lot of stuff.

In Just Cause 3, there’s another totalitarian regime ruling an island, and that’s not going to fly with Rico. The first gameplay trailer has shown us that things are going to heat up pretty quickly when we get into Just Cause 3.

When all else fails, use the grappling hook. Actually, just always use the grappling hook.

Mad Max

The original Mad Max movies (and the forthcoming Fury Road) are jam-packed with vehicular carnage and massive explosions, and the game is set to bring that to the table.

Avalanche Studios has crafted a massive open-world that will allow you to transition from on-foot combat to in-car destruction on-the-fly. Flipping cars, blowing up opponents and punching dudes in the face… what more could you want?

Not a whole lot more, quite frankly.

Godzilla: The Game

If the King of Monsters, himself, doesn’t cause explosive chaos, then we don’t know who will. Godzilla: The Game was originally a Japanese release which coincided with last year’s impressive Godzilla movie reboot, but we’re finally getting a taste of the giant reptilian pie this year.

It looks clunky, silly and we can’t wait to play it.

It’s just so dumb, so naturally, we want to play it even more.

Star Wars: Battlefront

We’ve been waiting a long time for this, and we’re finally going to get the glorious multiplayer set in a galaxy far, far away once more.

The next instalment in the Battlefront series is being developed by Battlefield aces, DICE, who will undoubtedly put the love, care and bang back into the Star Wars gaming franchise. Don’t believe us, watch this:

A recent Star Wars celebration event revealed a number of details regarding Star Wars: Battlefront, and it’s worth checking out.

Killing Floor 2

If you’re looking for all-out-action and things blowing up, Killing Floor 2 will most likely tick all your boxes.

The sequel to the popular horde shooter is set to bring some new grotesque creatures, new levels and some interesting perks, and of course, some epic guns, grenades and melee weapons to kill said baddies with.

Interested? Well it’s been available on Early Access for a few weeks now, so what are you waiting for?
