The gaming drought is nearly over, and August sees some potentially promising titles arrive, getting your gaming quota back on track.
We have Until Dawn, the highly anticipated PS4 exclusive that is said to be terrifying. Dishonored: Definitive Edition, RARE Replay and Gears of War: Ultimate Edition.
Here are the games of August:
Submerged – PS4, Xbox One
Submerged is a third-person combat-free game in which you explore a mysterious flooded city and discover the beauty of desolation in vast outdoor environments.
You take on the role of Miku, a young girl who has brought her wounded brother to the city in their small fishing boat.
Navigate the flooded city streets by boat, scale the drowned buildings and use your telescope to scour the city for the supplies needed to save your dying sibling.
As you explore the city at your own pace, you encounter the habitat that flourishes in this colorful place and discover hidden objects that piece together the story of a broken world and a broken family.
Releasing: 4 August, 2015
Goat Simulator – PS4, Xbox One
Goat Simulator is an open-ended third-person perspective game in which the player controls a goat. The player is free to explore the game’s world, a suburban setting, as a goat, and jump, run, bash things and generally lick objects.
Licking objects attaches the goat’s tongue to the object and lets the player drag the object around until they let go.
At any time, the player can let the goat drop into a ragdoll model, allowing the game’s physics to take over, and another mechanic makes the game run in slow-motion.
A number of environmental features allow the player to manipulate the goat into stunts such as bouncing off trampolines or launching the goat into the air through large fans.
It should really be called the shenanigan simulator.

Resident Evil: Revelations 2 – PS Vita
Resident Evil: Revelations 2 is a survival-horror game which supports cooperative gameplay on console platforms.
The game makes use of a number of stealth elements as only one of the players, as Claire Redfield, uses guns, a great asymmetrical twist.
In turn, the other player, playing as the vulnerable Moira, Barry Burton’s daughter, prefers to use weapons such as crowbars and bricks, or be used to find hidden items with a flashlight or special senses.

Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture will be based around six characters, each telling their own story, and each connected to landmarks in the world that evolve as the game progresses.
