Games you can play this week - alien oppressors and the zombie menace

It’s a pretty meaty week for gaming releases, getting February under way with a good start. Here’s our pick of the bunch:

Call of Duty Black Ops 3: Awakening DLC – February 2

(Xbox One, PS4, PC)

The first of four planned DLC map packs, Awakening arrives for Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 players this week and features 4 new multiplayer maps – Skyjacked, Rise, Splash, and Gauntlet – as well as the next chapter in the Zombie saga, Der Eisendrache.

This should reinvigorate the game just enough that Call of Duty players are kept busy for quite some time.

XCOM 2 – February 5

(PC)

In this sequel to the highly strategic, turn-based tactical title XCOM: Enemy Unknown, an unpleasant group of aliens has invaded Earth and set up a tyrannical government meant to keep us lowly humans in our place.

That’s not how you roll, so it’s time to fight back by guiding a group of rebels as they fight to take the planet back, one turn at a time.
