PS3 bound racing fans have waited a long time for Polyphony Digital’s current gen iteration the Gran Turismo series. The game was revealed just over five years ago at 2005’s E3, although at the time it was called Vision Gran Turismo. Also, it wasn’t really Gran Turismo 5, it was more of an imagining of what Gran Turismo 5 would be, using the Gran Turismo 5 engine and some PC rendered footage. In fact, the PS3 wouldn’t even be out for another year, so it is fair to say that fans have been waiting for the game since before Sony’s current generation console was even released.
The first significant showing was at E3 2009, when it was announced that the game would include NASCAR, WRC and Super GT. South African’s got a chance to play the game themselves at this year’s rAge, and we were finally given a firm local release date a few weeks ago.
That date is upon us – on 24 November 2010, arguably the PS3’s most long awaited game will finally hit retail shelves around the world. Now is your last chance to secure a pre-order, and in the process guarantee yourself a release day copy. It is also your last chance to take advantage of pre-order perks, such as lower pricing and free delivery in some cases.
