In gaming terms, 2011 starts tomorrow with the release of LittleBigPlanet 2 which is the first noteworthy AAA release of the year. The first game was praised for its unique art direction, memorable character design, and most importantly, its user generated content system, which allows people from all over the world to craft their own levels for the game and share them online.
Media Molecule promises that LittleBigPlanet 2 will push the envelope even further in terms of user created content, and early demonstrations of entire mini-games built in the level editor have already been shown off, including racing games, shooters, and even an RTS.
The game has received early critical acclaim, which you can find out more about in our LittleBigPlanet 2 review roundup.
If you are planning on buying the game tomorrow, then you might want to pre-order to secure your copy. Look&Listen seems to have launched a brand new pre-order system which for the first time makes the mega-retailer competitive with the likes of Kalahari, Take 2 and Zaps. Also, Zaps continues to offer free delivery on pre-orders.
If you pre-order from BTGames, Zaps, Exclus1ves or Look&Listen now, then you will be able to collect your copy from a storefront tomorrow, just in time for the weekend.
As usual, we have a round up of prices from local retailers to help you make an informed decision before taking the plunge. These are pre-order prices, and BTGames and Look&Listen are likely to increase the price after the game is released tomorrow.
