HTC has opened pre-orders for an upgrade kit for its Vive virtual reality headset on the device’s Chinese website, UploadVR reported.

The kit is made by TPCAST, one of the first of 33 companies to join the Vive X Accelerator.

According to HTC, the wireless upgrade will have no noticeable impact on factors like latency.

Pre-orders of TPCAST’s wireless upgrade for the Vive will come with a standard battery that is said to last about 1.5 hours, but HTC promised that a bigger battery will be sold in future.

This bigger battery would have to be placed in your pocket.

The kit is expected to ship from Q1 2017, and the pre-order will be priced at RMB1,499 (R3,094).
