Asus has announced its new GTX 10 Series high-end gaming laptop, the ROG GX800.

The device is a Pascal refresh of Asus’ powerful liquid-cooled gaming laptop, upgrading the twin GeForce GTX 980 graphics cards to a GTX 1080 SLI configuration.

The ROG GX800 features a water-cooling dock, which boosts the device’s performance while keeping it relatively cool.

When overclocked and connected to the Hydro Overclocking System, The GX800 boasts a FireStrike Ultra score of 10,395.

Due to its twin GeForce GTX 1080 desktop-class graphics cards, the GX800 boasts true, high-quality 4K gaming at a framerate of over 60 FPS.

To cope with these demands, the ROG GX800 comes with two 330W power adapters.

The Asus ROG GX800 will be available from February 2017 in South Africa Online from Evetech and DionWired (order on request) with a price tag of R129,999.

When you get to the point where the laptop looks like it could destroy your legs by placing it on your lap then it has stopped being a laptop and it’s now a desktop. At which point you would be better off building a proper desktop with better specs at a third of the price.
