Samsung Smartphone GamePad, Mobile Console app unveiled

Samsung Electronics announced the launch of its Smartphone GamePad and Mobile Console app in a press statement issued on Tuesday, 17 December 2013.

According to Samsung, the GamePad “transforms the user’s Galaxy smartphone or tablet into a portable gaming console or even a home console”.

The GamePad can be attached to mobile devices ranging from 4-inches to 6.3-inches, Samsung said. Users can also connect Galaxy devices to their TV through an HDMI cable or AllShare Screen Mirroring, the company said.

It also features a “play” button which launches Samsung’s Mobile Console application.

Samsung said that its app lets users browse and buy game pad supported games.

The GamePad is is currently available in select European markets and will be available in additional regions in the coming weeks, Samsung said.
