Laptops are rated best in certain categories in order to account for more specialised devices, although there is also a single category for best overall gaming laptop.

With the release of Nvidia and AMD’s new generations of graphics cards, this list showcases an impressive variance across multiple hardware generations, detailing the constant balance between performance and practicality which gaming laptop manufacturers have perfected.

It is important to note that South African pricing is not available for all products, with some yet to release in the country and some no longer in stock.

    I feel so poor now

    I really want a nice laptop but I have 2x problems:
    1. I have a REALLY tight budget
    2. I am also REALLY picky about specs

    My PC is huge and in no way mobile but I can buy things to go in there piece by piece and month by month. Most of my gaming is done from my desk with a LAN once a month – when I man up and carry that fridge into the car.
