Despite the recent reveal of the PlayStation 4 Pro, we may see a next-gen PlayStation 5 console in 2018, Gamingbolt reports.

Sony recently unveiled its powerful new PlayStation 4 Pro console along with a revised standard model of the PlayStation 4.

These announcements were foreseen by analyst Damien Thong, who correctly predicted that both consoles existed well before any major information regarding the new console lineup was available.

Thong has also predicted that the PlayStation 5 will arrive in the second half of 2018 and will be a successor to the current PlayStation 4 lineup.

This means that the device will signify the start of a new console generation just two years after the announcement of the PlayStation 4 Pro and 5 years after the launch of the original PlayStation 4.
