Asus has unveiled its new ROG Strix gaming laptop, which boasts an eight-core AMD Ryzen processor and Radeon RX 580 graphics card.

The top-of-the-range ROG Strix GL702ZC is powered by a Ryzen 7 1700 CPU, while model variants with smaller Ryzen processors will also be available.

Asus said the laptop’s Ryzen 7 1700 is based on the same silicon as the desktop version, but will not support overclocking.

The device also boasts an AMD Radeon RX 580 graphics card with 8GB of GDDR5 memory.

The device’s IPS LCD display is available in multiple configurations, including 4K at 60Hz and Full HD at 120Hz.

All available display options support AMD’s FreeSync technology, which lowers input lag and reduces screen tearing.

The laptop supports up to 32GB of DDR4 2,400MHz RAM and features an M.2 slot compatible with NVMe SSDs up to 512GB.

Asus did not reveal pricing for the unit, but said the laptop will be available later this year.
