South African retailers have listed pricing for AMD’s new Ryzen Threadripper processors.

Local pricing is available for the Threadripper 1920X and Threadripper 1950X, which are set to arrive in the country from tomorrow.

The processors are high-end desktop chips and support the manufacturer’s new X399 chipset with TR4 socket.

Like other Ryzen processors, Threadipper chips are based on AMD’s 14nm Zen microarchitecture – although they are much larger and not compatible with the AM4 socket.

Threadripper processors compete against Intel’s new Core X lineup of desktop chips, as both boast large core counts and high price tags.
