Microsoft has unveiled the Surface Book 2 – available in two sizes.

Microsoft said the laptop offers “powerhouse performance” in either a 15-inch or 13.5-inch form factor.

The PCs are available with 8th-gen Intel Core i5 or i7 processors, Nvidia GTX 1050 or 1060 discrete or integrated Intel HD graphics, and up to 16GB RAM.

The laptops also feature PixelSense touch displays with resolutions up to 3,240 x 2,160, up to 1TB SSD storage, and USB-C ports.

Microsoft said the Surface Book 2 can be set up in multiple positions, depending what the user needs:

  • Laptop Mode – Traditional laptop experience.
  • Tablet Mode – Detach the display and use it as a tablet.
  • Studio Mode – Fold the PC to draw on the display.
  • View Mode – Flip the screen and use the keyboard as a stand to watch media.

The Surface Book 2 starts at $1,499 for the 13.5-inch model, and $2,499 for the 15-inch model. Pre-orders open from 9 November.

I was going to comment something about my gaming laptop that I got for the same price however! I have changed my mind and I would buy one of these if I needed a new laptop. I Think this will probably give the MAC loving Hippies a run in performance style and versatility.

With that said lets wait and see what a MAC loving Hipster has to say about my comment 😛
