Sony unveils PSVR 2

Sony unveiled the PlayStation VR 2 (PSVR 2) headset for the PS5 in an official post on the PlayStation Blog.

The PSVR 2 headset improves on its predecessor by providing a 110-degree field of view, 4K HDR support, and a 90/120 Hz refresh rate.

Its design was inspired by the PS5 family of products, as it has the same white and black colour scheme and rounded corners.

Comfort was also a big part of the PSVR 2’s design, as evidenced by new features like an adjustable scope and lenses to ensure users can alter the headset for optimal viewing.

Additionally, a new vent design and improvements to the headset’s weight will ensure VR sessions can continue for longer without discomfort setting in.

The headset’s release date and price have not been confirmed yet, but it does already have its first launch title: Horizon Call of the Mountain, which is made by Guerilla Games and Firesprite.

The game will be set in the same world as the Horizon series but will involve a new character instead of the current protagonist, Aloy.
