New iPhone arrives in October – maybe

10 April 2012

The next generation Apple iPhone will launch in October according to a Foxconn insider.

The head of human resources at Foxconn’s Taiyuan factory has apparently let slip the information during an interview, according to South Korea’s Maeil Business Newspaper.

Foxconn “just got the order” according to the HR head, adding that “the release will be around October.”

The Taiyuan factory has been hiring more employees in anticipation of the increase in production before the next gen iPhone launch.

This latest rumoured launch date joins a host of others, including a report that the new iPhone will launch in June. This is according to a Foxconn recruiter whose conversation with potential hires was recorded by TV Tokyo.

Apple has historically launched new devices in June and in October, so either launch date is plausible.
