SA retail TV specials happening this weekend

14 April 2012

As TV prices continue to plummet, South African retailers are once again running specials on a range of televisions.

Makro, Dion Wired, Hi-Fi Corporation and Game are all running specials on TVs from various manufacturers. LED, LCD and Plasma panels from LG, Samsung, Sansui and Sinotec are all represented, in sizes from 32- to 60-inches. Below are some of the standout deals:

LG 60-inch 3D Full HD Plasma TV (Dion Wired)

Dion Wired are currently retailing the LG 60-inch 3D Full HD Plasma TV for R22,000.

This model features 3D support, 2D to 3D conversion, and PenTouch technology that allows you to “write” on the screen with the included pen touch pens. A “protective skin glass” covers the panel and rounds off the package.

Sansui 55-inch LED Full HD TV (Hi-Fi Corporation)

Hi-Fi Corporation once again has the Sansui STYO1655 55-inch LED Full HD TV on special this week for R8,999.99.

The Sansui features two HDMI inputs, USB connectivity, a PC mode, and a 2-year local warranty. While this TV may not match up to the more reputable brands in terms of features or image quality, it is one of the cheapest 55-inch LED offerings currently available.

Samsung 46-inch Full HD LCD TV (Makro)

Makro’s special this week is the Samsung LA46D550 46-inch Full HD LCD TV, retailing for R5,999.

This is the larger version of the popular LA32D550 model highly rated by the MyBroadband community. It features 4 HDMI-in ports, USB 2.0 ports, a 50Hz panel, Samsung AllShare and a 1 year guarantee.

Sinotec 32-inch Full HD LCD (Game)

Game has the Sinotec 32-inch Full HD LCD on special this week for R2,499.

This beats out the original Makro special price and is currently one of the cheapest 32-inch Full HD televisions on sale.

It may not have the perceived quality normally associated with the more well known brands such as Samsung and LG, but that doesn’t make the Sinotec a bad choice for the budget conscious.

The 5 year guarantee is a bonus for those who plan on keeping the device for a long period of time.
