Larrabee will not make 2009 release

18 June 2009

Intel’s highly anticipated entry into the graphics card market in the form of its Larrabee chip has officially been delayed until 2010.

An inside source has confirmed to Fudzilla that that the GPU will only make it to retail shelves in the first half of 2010.

Apparently the release delay is due to the software and driver development not being where it should be by now to make a 2009 release realistic.

In the meantime ATi is expected to bring the first DX11 40nm graphics card to market before the end of 2009.
