First DX 11 benchmark emerges

26 October 2009

With Windows 7 and DirectX11 now officially in stores, and DX11 hardware selling strong, it would seem that the era of DX11 gaming has just begun.

Unigine is the first developer to release a DX11 benchmarking tool; Heaven.

Heaven also supports benchmarking compatibility for DX9 and DX10, as well as OpenGL and AMD’s Eyefinity technology. The new tool uses tessellation technology, advanced SSAO (Screen Space Ambient Occlusion), dynamic sky with light scattering and volumetric clouds.

Heaven is the first tool that makes use of new features that AMD has introduced and it can be found here.
