It seems as though AMD has increased the retail price of the recently released HD 5850 in the USA.
The increase has been said to be due to exceedingly high demand for the cards coupled with low availability.
According to Fudzilla, the HD 5850 is now around $15 more expensive that it was previously.
AMD SA could not be contacted to comment on whether the increase will affect SA consumers.
As it is, the HD 5870 and HD 5850 are already overpriced locally, with very few cases of retailers selling them for the recommended R3999 and R2699.
