AMD thinks Nvidia is done with gaming

2 November 2009

AMD’s senior manager of developer relations Richard Huddy has told Hexus that he thinks Nvidia is no longer focusing on the gaming market.

“It’s not like our only focus is on gaming, but it appears NVIDIA is in a kind of sneering mode towards game players at the moment,” said Huddy, going on to say that “gamers are good people and well rounded individuals”.

We are not sure exactly how Huddy arrives at the conclusion that gamers are good and well rounded individuals, not to mention how he can justify such a statement, but it seems that the comment is intended to gain favour with potential customers, outing Nvidia as the proverbial ‘bad guy’.

Regardless of the secondary comments made, Huddy may well have a point that Nvidia is not focusing on gaming right now, considering that many analysts have stated that Fermi looks more set to deal with mission critical processes and is not optimized for pixel rendering.
