It has been a few years since AMD has yielded annual profit, but the chip maker believes that it will do so in 2010.
The company is currently swimming in around $3.2 billion of debt, but plans to make significant steps to reduce this in the coming year.
CEO Dirk Meyer has optimistically stated that the company will become a “cash flow generating machine” according to Fudzilla.
The company will stick to consumer orientated products, as it has illustrated with the recently released HD 5000 series, not to mention the Phenom II CPU range.
Meyer also made a subtle reference to Intel’s recent anti-trust violations “I’m looking forward to a future in which our ability to succeed as a business is governed by the quality of our products and the quality of our customer relationships. I can tell you that hasn’t always been true.”
With little sign of Nvidia’s next range of consumer orientated graphics cards, the market is wide open for AMD going into this years holiday period. This should yield a promising start for the company in 2010.
