Nvidia has announced the launch of its first 300 series graphics processor – the GeForce G 310.
According to Fudzilla, the new GPU is little more than a rebranded GeForce G 210 and features a 16 core processing unit which clocks in at a standard frequency of 589MHz and features 512MB of DDR2 memory on a 64-bit memory bus. It will also offer DisplayPort, DVI, VGA and HDMI connectors.
The G 310 will not however offer support for DirectX 11, leaving many confused as to why the manufacturer released it all. It is doubtful that this will be able to keep up with even the most meagre of AMD HD5700 series GPUs, let alone the HD5800 range.
Nonetheless Nvidia has confirmed that DirectX 11 compatible 300 series GPUs will be made available in early 2010.
