According to Fudzilla Nvidia will release the first Fermi sample in January 2010. The Fermi GeForce GT300 chips are still an unknown quantity, and enthusiasts are eager to find out how they will stack up against AMD’s recently released HD 5800 series.
Although the samples will arrive in January, mass shipments are only expected at the end of March.
A shortage of manufacturing supply will cause the delay, although it will console Nvidia to know that shortages have also hit AMD hard, with low stock levels on the HD5000 series cards going into the Christmas period.
