Nvidia’s Fermi will be out by April latest

8 January 2010

Nvidia has announced during its keynote speech at the currently underway Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas that its much anticipated next generation GPU Fermi is currently in full volume production and will be released in Q1 this year.

Q1 refers to Nvidia’s fiscal Q1, not Q1 as is referred to in general as the first 3 months of the year. Fiscal Q1 runs from January to April, so we can expect Nvidia’s first DX11 graphics card to release during this period.

Fermi is still largely an unknown quantity, and it remains to be seen exactly where it fits in in gaming market.
