Intel Haswell motherboard price indication

Dutch tech website Hardware.info has revealed some pricing information for Intel and ASRock motherboards that they received from information gathered using their Internet price tracker.

Intel’s Haswell is due for a launch in less than a month’s time and its expected that motherboard vendors and distributors are preparing for the flood of new devices and computers with the new chips. Haswell brings along with it a new socket and upgraded GPU graphics, a slightly higher TDP and better performance over Ivy Bridge.

Hardware.info estimates that these are the prices consumers will pay at the retail end of the market. However, consumers in the Netherlands pay 21% VAT on all computer hardware, so pricing will vary for local markets, but they will be similar.

Pricing for the motherboards isn’t bad at all. It seems to be in line with the prices we’re paying for Ivy Bridge-based boards today and the ASRock B85M Pro 4 might be the sweet spot if you’re not going to overclock, but will fit in a quad-core processor and possibly enjoy some dual-GPU action.

ASRock is also producing three ITX motherboards based on the different consumer chipsets, so those of you planning for a really small rig will be in luck.

As the Haswell launch on 4 June 2013 draws nearer, you can expect more pricing to be revealed, but here at MyGaming we don’t expect prices to be any different from what you’re seeing here today.
