AMD Catalyst 10.3 improves performance

Graphics card and CPU maker AMD has released its latest monthly driver for its HD graphics cards. Catalyst 10.3 is now WHQL certified, and includes a few neat performance improvements.

Owners of the HD 2000, 3000, 4000 and 5000 series graphics cards can download the new driver here.

The update introduces support for 3D Stereoscopic glasses, Display Bezel Compensation, Per-Display Color Adjust, Improved Display Configuration switching and easy toggling between cloned and extended desktop modes.

Games said to have been given performance tweaks include the S.T.A.L.K.E.R series, Aliens vs. Predator, Battleforge, Devil May Cry 4, Crysis and Crysis Warhead and Far Cry 2. Performance enhancements are said to be between 4 and 10-percent in most cases.

Tom Clancy’s H.A.W.X receives a 20-percent increase on the HD 5800, and Dirt 2 gets a 30-percent bump on the HD 5970 and 20-percent on the HD 5800 and HD 5700 cards.
