NVIDIA’s GTX 480 and GTX 470 series cards are still rarer than hen’s teeth right now, even in the international arena.
The manufacturer has released a new update for the cards in the form of the Geforce 197.41 WHQL driver.
The new driver includes PhysX software v9.10.0129, as well as HD Audio Driver v1.0.9.1.
Early yields of the card have been unable to meet consumer demand, and it is thought that the first batch of product was exhausted on pre-orders. Retail availability of the cards is therefore almost non-existent, although stock is currently shipping and they should begin appearing at retail over the next few weeks.
The local retail situation on the cards is expected to improve following an increase in international availability.
Currently the cards are almost impossible to buy in SA, and current pricing is exorbitant. Various companies, including ASUS and Prophecy have told MyGaming that they expect pricing to come down significantly over the next few months.
