AMD has released its monthly firmware update for its Radeon graphics cards. The WHQL certified driver follows two preview releases, and is compatible with all AMD graphics cards released since the HD 2000.
While it will work on earlier cards, only the HD 5000 series cards will show any performance improvements from the new driver.
Some new video playback related enhancements have been made with the Catalyst 10.4 driver, and a few games are expected to see performance improvements. This includes S.T.A.L.K.E.R Clear Sky which gets a 6 percent bump on the HD 5970 and 3 percent on the HD 5800 and HD 5700 cards.
