Chinese hardware manufacturer Foxcon has been getting some bad press lately, following a series employees killing themselves.
In an effort to curb the bad publicity, the CEO Guo Tai-mingame forward to refute claims that their factory is a “sweatshop.”
Shortly after his announcement, another employee jumped from a window in the building, bringing the tally up to 11.
The 19 year old male had only been working at Foxcon for 42 days, and it is assumed that he voluntarily ended his own life by jumping from a window.
In defending Foxcon, the company’s CEO stated that it’s very difficult to handle its 800,000 strong workforce.
There have previously been reports of the factory’s harsh working conditions, and of security gaurds beating employees.
